Student symposium ‘Establishing a student section in your country’
Students are the future of gerontology and geriatrics.
Students are a specific ‘market’ of members within Gerontology and Geriatrics Associations across the world. They have an interest in gerontological research, practice, and policymaking, but they also have specific concerns related to developing careers in gerontology.
This symposium will be an opportunity to hear about why there is a need to establish a student section within your country’s Association, along with how to get started and how to build a strong student section. This symposium will provide an opportunity to hear from members of the IAGG Council of Student Organizations (with examples from their own countries), with time allocated to ask specific questions of the panel.
All welcome to attend.
Lunch with the Stars
This is your chance to meet and mingle with some of the ‘Stars’ of gerontology and geriatrics.
The topic will be ‘How to balance your research/studies with the rest of your life’
The session will commence with a panel discussion by our ‘Stars’ where they will share their experiences of coping with a research career, plus other work and family/social commitments.
There will then be the opportunity to speak directly with the ‘Stars’ and ask any questions that you may have.
Please register for this event through the registration portal as there are limited places.
